Privacy
This is the announcement page of Bella Aurora Lodge. It is deliberately simple: it sets no cookies for visitors, uses no analytics scripts or tracking, embeds no third-party services and has a single form, the letter on our Reserve page. We count page views from our server logs, without tracking individual visitors. Below we explain what is nevertheless processed when you visit, and which rights you have.

Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted in Germany by Wegner Domus GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg. When you open a page, the web server automatically records technical data in log files: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and operating system. These data are needed to deliver the page to your browser and to keep the server secure. They are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.
Visitor statistics from the server logs
To know how many people visit this website and how they find it, we evaluate these log files. No script runs in your browser for this, nothing is stored on your device, and no profile of individual visitors is created. For the evaluation, a copy of the log files is transferred to a server in Germany that our website administrator operates on our behalf. When the copy is read in, IP addresses are shortened so that they can no longer be attributed to a person, and the copy with full IP addresses is deleted after seven days at the latest. What remains are aggregated figures: page views per page and day, the pages through which visitors arrive, referring websites, and campaign tags in links (for example in the link on our Instagram profile). This serves our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used and which of our announcements work (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; an e-mail to info@bella-aurora-lodge.com is enough.
Fonts, images and video
All fonts, images and the background video are stored on our own server. Opening this page does not establish a connection to Google Fonts, YouTube or any other third-party server.
Preview links
Before the full website opens, we send a few people a personal link to preview it. Only if you open such a link, a single cookie (ba_share) is stored in your browser for 60 days so that it shows the full website instead of this announcement page. The cookie contains a random access key and no personal data, and it is not used for statistics. You can delete it in your browser at any time.
Contact by e-mail
If you write to us, we process your e-mail address and the content of your message in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Messages are kept for as long as is necessary to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, and thereafter only where statutory retention periods require it.
The letter on our Reserve page
The dates you pick in the letter are used only in your browser, to show how dark the nights will be; nothing is sent until you press “Send the letter”. When you send it, we process what you have entered (name, e-mail address, dates of stay, number of guests, what you are coming for, your message and, if you choose to tell us, how you found us) in order to answer your enquiry and, if you then book, to prepare the booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The answer to “How did you find us?” is optional; we use it only to count which ways of finding us lead to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The letter reaches us by e-mail through our mail server at Wegner Domus GmbH & Co. KG and is also kept in the administration area of this website. We delete it once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods require us to keep it. To protect the form against automated abuse, a hashed form of your IP address is stored for one hour so that the number of letters per hour can be limited (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We send no automatic replies and do not use your details for advertising.
Link to Instagram
The link to our Instagram account opens Instagram in your browser. No data are transferred to Meta until you follow the link. Instagram’s own privacy policy applies there.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain access to the personal data we hold about you, to have them rectified or erased, to restrict their processing, to data portability, and to object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
Changes
This policy describes the announcement page. When the full website launches with an online booking service, it will be replaced by a more extensive version. Last updated: 4 October 2026.
